Molly Murray - Birth, Life, and Business Doula
Have you ever been or are you planning to be induced with cervidil?? I have been to many births that started with cervidil but I'd never actually seen it! So when I was at a birth at the time of cervidil placement, I knew I wanted to capture this mysterious .... ripening agent... and share it with you, in case you're like me and have heard of it (and maybe experienced it), but have never seen it! Pictured here is the glove that the nurse planned on using, the lubrication that she would use while placing it...and the cervidil that would be inserted into the vagina and next to the cervix, to hopefully begin the thinning of the cervix. You can read more about cervidil's purpose, benefits and side effects from their website here. Are you interested in learning about your options for physical and emotional support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, no matter your medical decisions or plan?
From a water-birth at a birth center to a medical induction in the hospital, I support you!

As families navigate their journey towards finding the right doula for them, there are many questions that come up and need to be discussed with each person or group they are considering. Whether the questions are found online or not, I hear a lot of the same questions. Here, I've taken some of the most frequently asked questions and answered them all for you.
I'm always open to a FREE phone consultation or an in-person consultation. Reach out to me here to set up our time together! Friends, it's no secret that I LOVE birth. I love listening to people talk about their births, I love preparing people for their births, and I especially love attending births as a birth doula.
Hey everyone! I recently wrote a blog post titled, ''Are Doulas worth the investment? Yes. Here are 5 reasons why.'' (you can read this post here). It's been very well recieved, with many people saying, ''Yes! 100% Doulas are worth the investment!''
I love that so many people are in agreement. But I have to tell you, I realize that I am coming from a place of privilege and in that post, assuming that whoever is reading HAS the funds, they just don't know if a doula is worth the investment. Here's where I let you in on little/big secret: I could not afford a doula! Every family that I talk with is asking themselves and one another the same question,
Are doulas really worth the investment? Several months ago, I wrote a blog post about the cost of doulas in Cincinnati (which you can read here). Today, I want to follow up this post up with 5 reasons why doulas are absolutely worth the investment! Of course, I'm a doula, so you could say that I'm more than a little biased... but that's okay! I've also given birth three times and utilized doulas for the last two births and wish I had for my first! Read on to find my reasons why hiring a doula is worth the investment... Disclaimer: This blog post is just a teeny tiny sliver into all of the resources and options available to you. Even still, it's easy to get overwhelmed. Use what you need now...and save the rest for later.
Sometimes we get lost in our screens; consuming link after link, boatloads of information...and pretty soon, we end up with what I once heard dubbed ''Information Constipation'' where we have consumed so much information that we're up all stopped up. Lol! I intend this post to be one that you bookmark and come back to throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. As always, if you know of anyone who is looking for a birth or postpartum doula or just needs to talk through their options, please send them my way! I appreciate your referrals. Mothering Without a Mother...and the Importance of Mom FriendsIn my last blog post, I mentioned that if I'm going to blog on a regular basis, I have to be more real with you all. Birth preparation is wonderful and absolutely worth writing about, but so is life and motherhood!
Sharing my story is important to me. To affirm this, I was recently listening to a talk with Seth Godin who blogs daily and he said something to the effect of, ''I write how I talk...and I've never met anyone who gets talking block.'' Haha! It's true, right? It may be hard to write out everything if I'm worried about doing it right or fitting into a box... but if I just share with you, how I would in person, I could go on for sometime! Read on to hear about my journey in mothering without a Mother and the importance of Mom friends in my life. And neither are the other doulas. Hey friends! It's been a while since I've sat down and written a blog post.
